How to use the lite version of the EDoB overlay on Google earth for iOS devices.

Google earth for iOS is capable of loading stripped down versions of the Extant, Unknown and Deprecated sections of the overlay, unfortunately the Removed section is still too large for the current RAM of these devices so don't attempt to load it.

You will need to be able to access the files on your device so they can be seen in the "Files" app.The simplest way to do this is to copy the *_lite_ext.kmz, *_lite_unk.kmz and *_lite_dep.kmz files into your iCloud Drive after downloading them from dropbox.

1. Log in to iCloud.com on a PC or Mac with your Apple ID and navigate to the iCloud Drive section. Just drag and drop the files into the ICloud Drive section.

2. On your device go to the Files App and in the locations section choose iCloud Drive and check you can see the files you just copied in there. You may have to enable iCloud Drive from the settings menu if you haven't used it before.

3. Now open Google earth on your device and from the main menu (three horizontal bars) choose My Places.

4. At the bottom of the My Places window choose Import kml

5. In the locations section choose iCloud Drive and then one of the kmz files. After a few seconds the file will display in Google earth, to undisplay a file just press the eye icon next to it in the My Places section.

6. Repeat steps 3 -5 for the other two files.

7. Wait until winter then go hunting for concrete.
